Easter March 28 2013, 0 Comments

Hi everyone, I cant believe Easter is upon us already and its still so bitterly cold here. I hope you are planning to do something nice over the long weekend?

My hubby is taking me off to Paris for a few days on a tiny 16 seat aircraft from Shoreham airport  which is a couple of miles from where we live. It is the oldest airport in the UK and home to a spectacular RAFA air show once a year, it was also featured in the Da Vinci Code film and Agatha Christie's poirot

The forecast is still very cold, we had a snow flurry today and more is forecast both here and in Paris so I'm packing lots of layers and my snow leopard necklace.

This week I spent 3 days at Arundel in a craft hall at the foot of the castle which was great fun but due to the freezing cold weather and the castle not opening until this coming weekend for Easter it was very quiet.

This will be a regular monthly slot and I'm optimistic that April will be much warmer and busier. Arundel is a stunning tourist market town with a perfect Norman castle, Cathedral, bird sanctuary, lake and river as well as some unique shops.

I have put a page of upcoming events on the website under the about me heading and will keep it updated throughout the year. I am also going to be creating a page with links to fellow crafter's sites which compliment my own and that I can personally recommend so keep your eyes open for the links.

I have added some psychedelic necklaces in red, purple and green to the new collection to warm you up a little, these can have gold, silver or rose gold coloured wacky wire or be left plain as above, please phone or email for different variation of the above. see piccies

All that's left to say is have an amazing Easter and I will catch up soon. x

Knitted Wire Flower Necklaces March 15 2013, 0 Comments

Its been a strange week here in Sussex, the beginning of the week saw a sudden downpour of snow which quickly left the roads impassable and people stranded for many hours. My pamper evening in aid of breast cancer in Steyning had to be cancelled. This quickly melted over the next couple of days to be replaced with lovely spring weather (very welcome) and now its Friday and very wet and miserable end to the week.

On a positive note I spent the week making some very pretty little knitted flowers, these are made the same way as the knitted flower brooches but measure 5cm instead of 8cm. I have combined them with some hand coiled wire in the matching colours to make a beautiful range of spring summer necklaces. They are 18" but as with most things can be custom made in a different length. Check out the knitted wire flower necklace collection.

This Sunday I will be at Denbies Vineyard in Dorking for a craft fair and will have them on show for the first time. Hoping for some nice weather to bring in the crowds but feel I'm being a little over optomistic!

Bespoke Designs March 06 2013, 0 Comments

Spring has sprung, yippee :))) at least for a day or two, lawnmowers are buzzing and the smell of freshly mowed grass is making me want to get out into my jungle and start attacking it! Mothers day is looming fast, still time to post some lovely items out if you get your orders in quickly.

The weekend at the ETC show in Brighton was an experience but not altogether as good as hoped, the footfall was poor, my position was right at the back by the loading bay doors and away from all the action which was disappointing but non the less I had some lovely comments and met some really nice stall holders and visitors. the display went well and all the planning was worth it. Time will tell wether it pays in future enquiries but as the wise people say if you don't try you never know so we will wait and see.

This week I've been working on a few bespoke orders, One for an over the head style for a lady with problems doing clasps up, another for a chocolate necklace 18" and another for a rainbow in a 23 " length. All are finished and delivered. I've popped some piccies on here for you to see.

Today I spent the day staffing 'Traders' a crafter's co-opererative in Littlehampton High Street, its a lovely first floor gallery with the work of many different artists and crafters, a shabby chic furniture specialist and a weaver with her loom in a separate workshop. downstairs is an antique gallery. It was an enjoyable day spent chatting to some lovely local collectors one of old gramophone records and one of old postcards of littlehampton dating back many decades.

Lots of interesting events to look forward to, a ladies pamper evening at the M.S treatment centre in southwick on Friday8th, and another at the Steyning Centre on Monday 11th both  6-9pm followed by Denbies wine estate on Sunday 17th.Hope that you'll be able to make some of the events, Please do come and say Hi

ETC homes and gardens lifestyle show February 28 2013, 0 Comments

Well its finally here!!!! the day I have waited for with excitement, fear and trepidation the very high profile 'ETC Homes and Gardens lifestyle Show' in the Brighton Centre. (stand 202)  it is like the 'Ideal Home show' full of big companies and big names promoting their businesses and of course 'little me'

It is by far the most prestigious event I have lined up this year and I'm going with the view that it will be a fantastic experience and way to promote my business locally as well as a way to learn and improve all aspects of displaying and selling at this type of show in comparison with the local craft fairs I have been doing.

I think I'm organised ................as well as I can be with limited experience. A good range of fabulous jewellery is made, photo album of all pieces and order book (ever hopeful) display boards, shelving, busts, tablecloths mirror and every sundry item imaginable as well as a comprehensive and co-ordinated range of packaging and gift wrapping and a new IZettle card reader so that I can now take credit and debit card transactions.

the Wacky wire range of necklaces that cross over at the front and can be bent to any shape are big sellers at the moment and available in any of the 20 colours of wire. I have added some photos and some samples are on the wacky wire collection, if you prefeer other colours please contact me and I will happily work with you.

Don't forget mothers day is just over a week away, please don't leave it until the last minute, check out the website over the weekend for postage next week to ensure presents arrive in time.

this week has been a mixture of highs, (first website sale yipppeee) and orders for two bespoke necklaces and a big low the anniversary of my dear father passing away. I'm hoping this weekend and a new month will be a continuation of the highs.

Very best wishes to you all for March, hopefully we will see a glimpse of spring like weather to give us all the lift we need, the crematorium 'spring garden' was full of beautiful daffodils nearly in bloom today, a stunning vista.

Look forward very much to hearing from you with some lovely orders over the spring months,  Vanessa x
